A Message of Thanks from Dean Chris Guthrie

Dean Chris Guthrie

The annual Donor Report celebrates alumni and friends who support the law school financially. Thanks to your gifts, Vanderbilt Law School welcomes a new class of students each year to a strong, collegial and cohesive academic community where they will benefit from both an excellent legal education and a culture unique among law schools. Thanks to your gifts, we are able to recruit and retain highly qualified faculty who are eager to continue our longstanding tradition of offering students an outstanding classroom experience. And thanks to your gifts, faculty and students work and learn in a building that is attractive, commodious and state-of-the-art, located on one of the world's loveliest campuses.

By way of this recognition, we wish to express our sincere gratitude for your gifts and your ongoing support. This report reflects all gifts to the law school during calendar year 2010 of $500 or more. In addition, we have chosen to include several other lists that reflect the level of support we've received from our alumni and friends and our deep appreciation of your gifts. The Sarratt Society includes all those who have notified us that they have included the law school in their estate plans. This year's report also highlights donors who have endowed new scholarships since 2000 as an expression of our thanks. And, as Vanderbilt's Shape the Future campaign draws to a close, we are highlighting all who have contributed $100,000 or more to Vanderbilt Law School since the campaign's inception in 1999 as well as those who have faithfully supported the law school by making gifts during each year of this successful campaign.

All of this is made possible by your support, and we are deeply grateful to you.

All best wishes,

Chris Guthrie
Dean and John Wade-Kent Syverud Professor of Law
